Arrive Alive Guarantee

At Obsidian Betta Co., every fish is carefully conditioned, assessed, and packaged to ensure it arrives safely and in excellent health.

We offer an Arrive Alive Guarantee on all livestock shipments delivered on the first delivery attempt within the United Kingdom, subject to the conditions outlined below.

Guarantee Conditions

To qualify for the Arrive Alive Guarantee, the buyer must:

  • Ensure somebody is available to receive the delivery on the first delivery attempt.
  • Provide accurate shipping information at checkout.
  • Acclimate the fish appropriately upon arrival.
  • Contact Obsidian Betta Co. within 1 hour of confirmed delivery in the event of a DOA (Dead on Arrival).

Claims submitted outside of this timeframe may not be accepted.

Evidence Required

In the unlikely event of a DOA, the buyer must provide:

  • Clear, uninterrupted video footage of the unopened shipping box being opened.
  • Clear video and photographs showing the fish within the sealed transport bag.
  • Photographs of the shipping label and packaging.

Failure to provide sufficient evidence may result in the claim being declined.

Resolution

Where a valid DOA claim is approved, Obsidian Betta Co. will offer one of the following at its discretion:

  • Replacement fish (subject to availability)
  • Store credit
  • Refund of the affected fish only

Shipping costs are non-refundable.


Exclusions

The Arrive Alive Guarantee does not cover:

  • Delayed deliveries caused by the courier
  • Failed or missed delivery attempts
  • Incorrect shipping information provided by the buyer
  • Stress-related colour loss or fin clamping during transit
  • Minor fin wear or cosmetic imperfections resulting from shipping
  • Illness, injury, or death occurring after successful delivery and acclimation
  • Fish housed in unsuitable water conditions or incompatible environments after arrival

Weather & Shipping Delays

Obsidian Betta Co. reserves the right to delay shipment during periods of extreme weather to protect livestock welfare.

Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing livestock from Obsidian Betta Co., the buyer acknowledges and agrees to the terms of this Arrive Alive Guarantee.
