There is something about a proper long-finned Samurai that just hits differently.

This Black Samurai Halfmoon male carries that unmistakable deep, near-black base, broken by bold metallic silver-white Samurai scaling concentrated across the head and upper body. The irregular placement of the armour-like scales is exactly what gives Samurai their character — no two ever really present the same way.

But for me, it’s the finnage that makes this guy.

His huge Halfmoon tail opens into a beautifully broad fan, with dark smoky finnage gradually softening towards the outer edges. Against that metallic armour across the body, the overall look is incredibly dramatic without needing masses of colour.

A proper display Betta and exactly the sort of Samurai that remains at the centre of the Obsidian collection.
