Black Samurai Halfmoon Male Betta | WYSIWYG

Another Samurai Halfmoon, and this boy is a perfect example of why this variety has been at the centre of Obsidian from the beginning.

His base is incredibly dark, with a near-black body flowing straight into huge, deep black Halfmoon finnage. Sitting over the top is that unmistakable metallic Samurai armour, heavily concentrated across the head, back and upper body.

The contrast is exceptional.

Under different lighting, the armour shifts between silver, turquoise and icy blue, while the rest of the fish remains almost completely black. There are also subtle metallic rays breaking through the caudal, giving you flashes of detail that only really appear once he opens up.

And this boy carries some serious Halfmoon finnage.

The broad caudal, substantial dorsal and deep anal fin give him that flowing, imposing silhouette that makes long-fin Samurai so different from the HMPKs you more commonly see.

No complicated colour palette required.
